Community Participation

Stay connected to life outside the home — in ways that fit the person, not a generic aged-care timetable.

Person-centred

Age-appropriate. Interest-led. Connected to real life.

WellKind can support people living with dementia to continue participating in their community — cafés, parks, walking, sporting activities, libraries, markets, volunteering, hobbies, community groups, shopping, local events and places connected to their interests.

For younger people with dementia especially, community participation should not automatically mean traditional aged-care activities.

The focus is age-appropriate and person-centred.

Individual support is not the same as community events

This distinction matters.

Individual support

A WellKind Dementia Engagement Worker may take someone for a walk or coffee because it is meaningful to that individual — guided by their Living Well Plan.

WellKind Community

WellKind may separately host a community walk or coffee event for families to meet and connect. Community events are hosted separately from core support services.
