Dementia Engagement Workers

Consistent support. Meaningful time. Trained workers who help people continue doing things that matter to them.

A major differentiator

Not generic support. Meaningful engagement.

Rather than providing generic support workers who simply supervise someone, WellKind provides trained Dementia Engagement Workers.

Their role is to help the person continue doing things that matter to them — hobbies, walking, gardening, cooking, music, art, conversation, shopping, cafés, libraries, volunteering and everyday routines.

The activity is meaningful because it is meaningful to the individual — not because it fills time.

Consistency of support

Familiar faces matter.

Where possible, clients have one primary Dementia Engagement Worker and one consistent backup worker.

The aim is to minimise the constant rotation of unfamiliar support workers.

For someone living with dementia, familiarity, trust and routine can be extremely important. The goal is to build a genuine relationship rather than provide anonymous support hours.

How support is shaped

Abilities. Interests. Goals.

Dementia Engagement Workers provide consistent, meaningful support based on each person’s abilities, interests and goals — guided by the Living Well Plan and reviewed over time.
